The McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) Foundation, the Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Fondation du Centre hospitalier de l’Université de Montréal (CHUM) announced today that TD is donating $2 million to the Joint Corporate Campaign. The funds will be used to support the redevelopment projects of the two academic healthcare institutions.

More and more couples are choosing to make a charitable donation instead of offering traditional wedding bonbonnières to their guests. We think this is a wonderful trend, so we’ve created a program to make it easy for the future bride and groom to make this decision.

A heartfelt thank-you to the hundreds of people who donated toys for The Children’s young patients over the Holidays. Thanks to your incredible generosity, every child at The Montreal Children’s Hospital received a gift this year. Whether you dropped off toys and books, or made a financial contribution so that our specialists could purchase age-appropriate gifts for their patients, your contribution made the Holidays a happier time at The Children’s.

Starting this January, $100 gift cards are being sold for $25 – and every penny will be used to benefit Montreal's pediatric hospitals. This means that in addition to doing something great for your own health this year, you’ll also be giving The Children’s youngest patients a better chance at a bright and healthy future.

Appearances can be deceiving. The first year of a child’s life is without a doubt a period of great vulnerability. However, as you will read in the following story, newborns can also show incredible resilience, sometimes even against all odds. Born on December 1, 2009, Stefano Ruvo was transferred to The Children’s at three days of age when doctors saw that he couldn’t breathe on his own. After undergoing extensive tests, Stefano was diagnosed with Congenital Central Hypoventilation Syndrome (CCHS), a rare condition of the central nervous system.

Dr. Nicolas Steinmetz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Montreal Children’s Hospital Foundation, is proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Marie-Josée Gariépy as Foundation President. Ms. Gariépy replaces Ms. Louise Dery-Goldberg, who, prior to announcing her retirement, held the position of Foundation President since 1998.
